The purpose of the LIFE project was to restore the pools of the former fish farm at Salines de la Tancada. We worked to improve coastal lagoon habitats, in the aim of preserving the life of existing species, such as the Spanish toothcarp (Aphanius iberus), which is currently threatened by extinction, and Limonium sp, as well as creating recreational habitats for larolimnic birds. Closely following the specific habitat requirements, work was carried out on the dike space between pools to diversify habitats without affecting existing species, both isolating and integrating the landscape.
